Alistair is quiet for most of the trip to Orlais. People keep trying to talk to him - plans, diplomatic strategies, etc. - but he's having none of it. Eventually they give up and leave him his space.
He can't help but think that it kind of feels good to be on the road again. To be free of walls, to be camping, to be out in the open and in the changing scenery. It brings back good memories. But it's all bitter without her.
